There are certain advantages for the pregnant woman to write her labor and birth plan. Among the most important we can mention:
- It allows decisions to be made and preferences to be communicated before delivery, when it may be made difficult by the situation itself.
- It orients the health personnel about the birth care that the woman desires.
- It helps to better understand everything related to childbirth.
- It favors the active participation of the pregnant woman.
In addition, it is important to know that the birth plan can be modified or revoked in whole or in part as events unfold on the day of delivery.
