Pregnancy can delay the diagnosis of the illness, which means, that pregnant women must pay attention to any abnormal change, especially in the breasts, that it’s not common of pregnancy.
The survival rate of women diagnosed of cancer during its early stage is high. A pregnant woman diagnosed with cancer can go through almost every treatment. Surgical treatment with local anaesthetics or even general anaesthetics can be carried out during all the stages of pregnancy; however, chemotherapy or immunotherapy can only be carried out once the first trimester has passed. Radiotherapy and hormonal drugs are not recommended during pregnancy.
