A disadvantage if double-donor IVF is usually its cost, although undoubtedly the most difficult part for couples is to cope with the fact that they have no alternative but to give up on their own genetic load.
Some couples prefer to make use of donated embryos because, even though the baby won't be genetically linked to them anyway, it is more cost-affordable.
Double-donor IVF success rates are higher than those of embryo donation.
