Nowadays, epidural anesthesia is used in more than 90% of deliveries to avoid the intense pain suffered by mothers when giving birth. Thanks to this type of anesthesia, the woman can have a more bearable childbirth without any of her mental faculties being blocked, that is to say, the woman will be conscious at all times but without feeling pain.
The duration of the epidural will depend on the dose administered, it ranges between 15 minutes and 2 hours approximately.
