Although epidurals are a fairly safe analgesic method with numerous benefits, it is true that they also have some drawbacks. Some of them are shown in the image.
When an epidural is administered to a woman, the risk of episiotomy increases since the woman looses her ability to push. In addition, epidurals can cause decreased blood pressure, headaches and nausea.
