A new mother may have some doubts about the basic care of a newborn, since it is the first time she has a baby and no one is born knowing. Therefore, some general recommendations are:
- Breastfeeding on demand from the baby's first day of life, with breast milk or formula.
- Take care of the umbilical cord according to the specialist's indications, until it falls off naturally.
- Bathe the baby 2-3 times a week, as the baby's skin is sensitive and delicate.
- Let the baby sleep and lay on its back. The crib should be uncluttered, without many stuffed animals.
- Establish a new routine.
However, the main advice is to consult the pediatrician with any doubts and follow his indications, as well as to go to all the stipulated check-ups.
