Hi folks. My wife and I have just had a failed iui and we have now decided to give home insemination a go after reading alot of success stories. Our sperm arrived from the cryos bank today and we are just waiting for her to ovulate which should be within the next few days. We are using the stork OTC this time along with pre seed. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using these items? Thanks

The success rates of the Stork OTC or cervical cap insemination (CCI) are considered of approximately 10-20%. However, you should not forget that the rates of artificial insemination at home are similar to those reached with natural insemination, that is, intercourse. With clinical insemination, the sperm specimen is washed and processed before the insemination in order to remove non-viable sperm cells, which increases the overall success rates.
You haven’t made references to your fertility problem, but depending on the severity of the issue, it may or it may not work for you.
I hope I have been able to help,
Best
04/05/2018 at 8:39 amI used donor sperm from a male friend and eventually conceived twice from home insemination. I looked at the Stork but was rather put off on price considering that I knew I was going to need multiple attempts due to my age.
I tried the conventional pot and syringe kits you see sold quite a lot for this purpose but found that the pot was massive and worried that most of the sperm would be left smeared all over the inside. I then tried using the disposable moon cups but thought that there might be too much contact between air and sperm whilst I got ready to insert.
I finally settled on some much narrower pots which were really easy to use and due to the v-shaped base meant that I was able to syringe up every drop. I realise that I probably haven’t helped with your exact enquiry as I expect you are more than happy to pay the one-off cost (hopefully!) for the Stork, given your investment in shipped sperm. But for any other women and couples out there looking for a really easy and low cost option, I wanted to post my experience in case it helps. Anyway, good luck!
