    Hello Doctor,

I had safe sex with my boyfriend on February, 23 and my period started on March, 10. It lasted 5 days and then when it disappeared we had safe sex again but when we finished I started to bleed. At first it was red but then it acquired a brown tone. What’s going on?

  2. Dear Vm Wrong,

Bleeding during or just after having sexual intercourse is an uncommon symptom. It is probably due to some hormonal imbalance that has caused you to bleed or perhaps it is due to an irritation, tear, small cut or wound in your vagina.

Should it happen again, my advice is that you ask your doctor to have it checked.

    Regards
