What is Gonorrhea?

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by bacteria Neisseria Gonorrhoeae.

The main routes of transmission of gonorrhea are vaginal, anal, or oral sex, so it can occur in both men and women. Pregnant women can also pass gonorrhea to the baby during delivery.

Symptoms of gonorrhea include pain and burning during urination, abnormal secretions from the penis or vagina, vaginal bleeding, etc.; however, there may also be asymptomatic cases.

Treatment for gonorrhea consists of antibiotics such as Ceftriaxone and Azithromycin.
