In pregnancy, constipation is a common discomfort, as digestion is slower and the intestines are compressed by the enlarged uterus, which makes intestinal transit difficult.
Tips to alleviate this, and thus also prevent the appearance of haemorrhoids, include eating a diet rich in fibre and proper hydration. In addition, exercise adapted to pregnancy and staying active (if there are no contraindications from the specialist) will help the intestinal transit.
