When a couple has not had children, it is quite common to ask them about when they are going to have them. However, this is a private and very intimate topic, so you should not ask about it.

Thus, it would be advisable to avoid some comments such as the ones mentioned below:

• Questions about when they are going to have children.
• Comments about the biological clock, such as the typical phrase “you're going to miss the rice”.
• Phrases putting pressure on the couple.

On the other hand, it is usual that the reasons why the couple has not had offspring are not known (no reproductive desire, fertility problems, previous miscarriages...) Therefore, it is always best to be cautious.
