For the diagnosis of hyperemesis gravidarum, the specialist will rely on the patient's symptoms and check for weight loss. In addition, the doctor will instruct the pregnant woman to undergo a blood and urine test. These tests will serve to evaluate the woman's state of health, as well as to rule out other pathologies causing vomiting.
Finally, the gynecologist will also perform an ultrasound on the pregnant woman, in case it is a multiple pregnancy or a molar pregnancy.
