INVO is a method that allows the intravaginal culture of eggs and sperm. Therefore, fertilization and the first stages of embryonic development will take place inside. In this way, these processes occur inside the woman's body instead of in an incubator in the assisted reproduction laboratory.
INVOcell consists of two devices:
- Culture device. It consists of an inner vessel, where the oocytes and spermatozoa will be introduced, and a protective cover.
- Retention device. Its purpose is to retain the culture device in the vaginal canal.
The gynecologist inserts these devices into the woman's vagina, once the culture device contains the eggs and sperm, and it must remain inside for three days.
