Delivery with forceps

The forceps is a spoon-shaped metal instrument that helps to remove the baby in difficult deliveries. With the help of the forceps, the baby's head can be grasped and guided through the birth canal.

Forceps delivery is indicated when the mother has no more strength to push, the foetus is in danger or the baby does not descend through the birth canal as it should. This delivery procedure should always be performed in a hospital.
