Ovulation occurs about 14 days before the estimated date of the next menstrual period, so in a typical 28-day menstrual cycle, it will occur around day 14 of the menstrual cycle. Thus, the 3-4 days before, the day of ovulation and the day after will be the woman's most fertile days.
