Dysmenorrhea is the medical term for menstrual pain. In principle, a woman is more likely to suffer from menstrual pain if she has any of these risk factors:
- Early menarche.
- Abundant menstruation.
- Prolonged menstruation.
- Irregular cycles.
In addition, having a family history of dysmenorrhea, as well as smoking, would also increase the risk of suffering pain with menstruation.
