Why is prenatal Pilates beneficial?

The Pilates method has physical and mental benefits for those who practice it. In addition, for pregnant women, practising Pilates adapted to pregnancy has the following benefits:

  • It increases the ability to concentrate.
  • Prevents back pain and other discomfort.
  • It contributes to weight control.
  • It favours rest.
  • It helps in the preparation for childbirth.
  • Facilitates postpartum recovery.

However, it is important to have medical consent before starting Pilates classes for pregnant women, in case there are any contraindications.
