The Pilates method has physical and mental benefits for those who practice it. In addition, for pregnant women, practising Pilates adapted to pregnancy has the following benefits:
- It increases the ability to concentrate.
- Prevents back pain and other discomfort.
- It contributes to weight control.
- It favours rest.
- It helps in the preparation for childbirth.
- Facilitates postpartum recovery.
However, it is important to have medical consent before starting Pilates classes for pregnant women, in case there are any contraindications.
