Although Pilates adapted to pregnancy has many benefits for pregnant women, it is true that on some occasions, such as the following, it may be contraindicated:
- Complications or risks in pregnancy.
- Hypertension.
- Placenta previa.
- Premature rupture of membranes.
- Cervical insufficiency.
- Intrauterine growth retardation.
- Pregnant woman's heart failure.
For this reason, you should always ask your specialist beforehand whether or not you can do Pilates in pregnancy and, if you obtain their consent, you should consult them about when to start.
