When ovarian reserve is practically depleted or after several unsuccessful IVF cycles with your own eggs, egg donation is an option. IVF with egg donation has higher success rates than IVF using your own eggs. However, aside from the cost, the main drawback of egg donation is that it requires the woman to give up her genetic makeup.
The same applies to embryo adoption. These embryos come from other patients and, therefore, do not contain the patient's genetic material.
