Preterm labour, also known as preterm birth, is a complication during pregnancy that results in birth before the 37th week of gestation. Depending on how many weeks before the due date, this complication will be more or less serious.
Some situations that may increase the risk of preterm birth are multiple pregnancy, polyhydramnios, rupture of the amniotic sac and placenta praevia. In addition, bleeding during the first trimester of pregnancy also increases the risk of preterm labour
