The Catholic Church opposes to the set of assisted reproductive technologies (ART), since it considers that artificial fertilization is an unnatural way of conceiving.
According to Catholicism, the fact that a couple is married does not give them the right to have a child by default, but just the right to engage into the sexual acts required to procreate.
