The appearance of dark spots (melasma or chloasma) on a woman's skin is very common during pregnancy, especially from the second trimester onwards. They may also darken as the weeks of pregnancy pass.
These spots on the pregnant woman's face do not pose any risk to her or the baby, but may be of concern for aesthetic reasons. However, melasma tends to fade after childbirth and even gradually disappear. However, sometimes these spots remain for a long time after childbirth.
