How to prevent facial blemishes in pregnancy?

To try to avoid the appearance of brown spots on a pregnant woman's face, known as melasma or chloasma gravidarum, it is essential to moderate sun exposure. In addition, it is best to avoid exposure to the sun in the middle of the day (from 11 am to 4 pm).

However, when a woman is going to be exposed to the sun, she should use sunscreen with a high protection factor for both UVA and UVB rays. If sun exposure continues after two hours, reapplication is necessary.

The sunscreen should be suitable for pregnancy and should be applied regardless of whether it is winter or not. Keep in mind that we are exposed to the sun when we are outdoors, e.g. walking, and not only when sunbathing on purpose.

On the other hand, it is also useful to wear hats and sunglasses, so that the sun's rays do not fall directly on the pregnant woman's face.
