Embryos that are not initially transferred in a conventional IVF or ICSI treatment are cryopreserved. They thus remain awaiting their future purpose:
- Own use in future treatments.
- Donation to other women or couples.
- Donation for research.
- Cessation of storage.
This last destination for frozen embryos will only be possible when it is considered that the woman no longer meets the appropriate medical requirements to undergo an assisted reproductive technique.
