Advances in stem cells and genetic editing are key to the future of assisted reproduction. As for stem cells, they can secrete growth factors that would improve tissue repair and regeneration. In addition, their potential to regenerate ovarian tissue is being investigated.
On the other hand, genetic editing allows correcting mutations associated with diseases. However, its use in human embryos for reproductive purposes is prohibited or highly regulated in many countries due to its ethical and safety implications.
