Before pregnancy tests were developed and marketed, which are readily available in pharmacies today, grandmothers had other methods of trying to find out if they were pregnant. Most of them were done using the first urine of the day, a pre-boiled cup (to try to make it as sterile as possible) and ingredients that you usually have at home, like the ones shown in the picture.
Nowadays, these pregnancy tests with homemade ingredients are only done out of curiosity or as a game, as it should always be kept in mind that the result is not reliable and has no scientific evidence.
