Uterine prolapse is a drop of the uterus into the vaginal area. Women with mild uterine prolapse usually have no symptoms or discomfort associated with it. In these cases, the cervix drops to the lower part of the vagina.
However, when the cervix protrudes through the vaginal opening, the woman will have moderate or severe uterine prolapse. This type of prolapse can cause problems in a woman's daily life and usually requires treatment.
