Cervical mucus has completely normal variations throughout the woman's menstrual cycle, due to the different hormonal levels. Thus, in the periovulatory period (around ovulation) the cervical mucus will be more abundant and elastic. However, in the follicular and luteal phases the cervical mucus will be thinner.
