4D ultrasound does not pose any danger to the health of either the fetus or the mother, so it can be performed at any time. However, the best images are obtained between the 25th and 32nd week of gestation. As the weeks of pregnancy progress, the volume occupied by the fetus is greater and the amount of amniotic fluid is reduced. This makes it difficult to visualize and move the baby through the 4D ultrasound.
