There are several types of artificial insemination depending on where the sperm are deposited, but the most common is intrauterine artificial insemination or, simply, artificial insemination (AI).
AI consists of depositing a semen sample, previously trained in the laboratory, in the woman's uterus. To do this, the specialist uses a cannula inserted through the cervix.
The semen sample can come from the couple (conjugal artificial insemination, CAI) or from a donor (donor artificial insemination, DAI).
