Colostrum is the first milk secreted by the mother after giving birth. It has a thicker consistency and a yellowish color. It contains a high protein content to meet the high demand of the newborn.
On the other hand, mature milk begins to be secreted from the 6th day after delivery. It has a more watery appearance due to the high water content. It also has the perfect combination of carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins, minerals and fats needed by the baby.
