Preterm birth, also calledpreterm birth, means that the baby is born before 40 weeks. The World Health Organization (WHO) considers preterm birth to be when the baby is delivered before 37 weeks.
A complication associated with multiple pregnancy is that delivery may occur even before 32 weeks, which could result in intracranial haemorrhage or cerebral palsy in the baby. It is therefore important to attend all medical check-ups.
