Protein foods in pregnancy

Protein-rich foods should occupy one-fourth of a pregnant woman's food plate. Protein is important for the growth of the developing baby.

It is important that meats, fish, as well as seafood and eggs, are consumed fully cooked. In addition, fish such as bluefin tuna, swordfish or emperor fish, shark and pike should be avoided because they are fish with a high mercury content.

Legumes are rich in vegetable proteins and fiber, so they are also highly recommended during pregnancy, 2-3 times a week.
