Knowing about a sperm donor's blood type is not so important, although it might become so if the receiving woman has an Rh negative blood type. In these cases, patients should choose a donor that is Rh negative as well if possible.
Otherwise, the woman may develop antibodies to the fetus if it is Rh positive.
