The success rate of an embryo adoption will depend on the quality of the embryos that are transferred, although the age of the recipient woman and her endometrial preparation will also be important. According to the latest statistical data of the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF) for the year 2023, it is established that in embryo adoption:
- The rate of gestation by transfer of donated embryos is 42.9%.
- The rate of delivery by transfer of donated embryos is 31.1%.
In addition, it must be taken into account that the embryos may have been donated by other people with fertility problems who have undergone IVF with their own gametes, so that the success rates would be lower than if donor gametes were used.
The statistical data shown here should not be used to imply or predict a certainty of outcome for a specific individual within an at-risk population.
