Embryo adoption is a reproductive option that is indicated in those patients who do not achieve a gestation using their own gametes. The most common situations in which embryo donation is used are the following:
- Poor egg and / or sperm quality, which causes infertility problems in the couple.
- Absence of a male partner and fertility problems in women.
- Repeated failures of IVF using own eggs.
- Risk of transmission of genetic diseases that cannot be prevented through preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).
