Potential side effects and complications after endometrial ablation

As any other surgical procedure, pain and discomfort are common side effects derived from endometrial ablation (EA), regardless of the method of surgery used. Cramping, bloating/gas and urinary incontinence might also appear, but they usually stop after 1 or 2 days.

Bleeding or even the passing of blood clots beyond 2 days after the operation are abnormal and indicate that further medical assistance is necessary.
