Can amniocentesis be performed in the 21st week of pregnancy?

Amniocentesis is an invasive prenatal technique that is recommended to be performed between 15 and 21 weeks of gestation. However, amniocentesis is most commonly performed at 15-17 weeks of pregnancy.
