How can I calculate my ovulation date?

By Silvia Azaña Gutiérrez B.Sc., M.Sc. (embryologist).
Last Update: 03/02/2026

Silvia Azaña, an embryologist at inviTRA, explains in this video how the ovulation date can be calculated:

To calculate the time of ovulation, it is necessary to know the date of the last menstruation and the duration of the menstrual cycles.

Depending on that factor, the moment of ovulation will happen at one point or another, although always around the middle of the menstrual cycle. For example, if the duration of the menstrual cycle is 28 days, ovulation will take place around day 14. If the duration of the menstrual cycle is different from 28 days, 14 days must be subtracted from the expected date of the next period.
