How do I prepare to start my fertility treatment?

When a couple decides to undergo fertility treatment, it is of vital importance to understand that it is a process of two and both must help and complement each other to achieve the goal: pregnancy. It is a long and complex journey that requires high doses of emotional stability and complicity in the couple. Therefore, they must be mentally prepared before starting a process. In the case of a woman who wants to become a mother, it is very important to be sure to start the process alone and, when necessary, ask for help from a family member or rely on the medical team.

Whatever the family model, all patients must understand that it is a long road that must be followed step by step and that it has several phases along the way. Each of them needs to be explained and well understood by both. Constant communication with the clinic is essential to understand what we are doing at any given moment and why we are doing it. The information explained by the medical staff is fundamental. Therefore, it is in our hands to offer serenity and confidence to both members of the couple.

The information on the Internet is often difficult to manage because there is a large volume of explanations that do not help to understand the reproductive process. Sometimes, people go to sites that are not sufficiently accredited and contribute more to misinformation than to effective help.

Consulting your doubts with your doctors during the reproductive process, or discussing your situation with a family member or trusted friends, usually helps you to be more at ease.
