What are the advantages of AI over IVF?

By Marta Barranquero Gómez B.Sc., M.Sc. (embryologist).

Artificial insemination is considered a low-complexity fertility treatment, as it is performed in the doctor's office and ovarian stimulation is mild, reducing the possibility of side effects. In addition, compared to IVF, the cost of artificial insemination is lower.

In contrast, in vitro fertilization (IVF) is a highly complex fertility treatment, with a higher price tag and more risks of side effects, as it uses more hormone medication for ovarian stimulation.
