Hysterosalpingography is a fairly safe test, but it is possible for some complications to appear after the test even though it is not common:
- Allergic reaction to the contrast (iodine).
- Endometritis or inflammation of the endometrium.
- Salpingitis, that is, inflammation of the fallopian tubes.
- Uterine perforation.
In addition to these possible risks after the hysterosalpingography, the woman is also exposed to those risks derived from X-ray exposure.
