Unless the woman is trying to conceive or undergoing a fertility study, she will not feel any discomfort that would make her suspect her ovarian reserve is low.
If the woman has a hormonal blood test and the values of anti-Müllerian hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) are determined, then she will be able to know the status of her ovarian reserve.
However, those women with premature ovarian failure and/or a highly compromised ovarian reserve may indeed present with irregular menstrual cycles, including the absence of menstruation.
