In this syndrome, no oocytes are obtained after an ovarian function, although there is a correct growth in the follicles after the ovarian stimulation, the causes are unknown.
We refer to Genuine or True Empty Follicle Syndrome when there is a correct administration of the hormonal treatment, trigger. It´s known that less than 1% of the stimulations have this outcome, even though there are publishers that think these numbers are higher. The cause of the lack of physiological stimulation of the trigger is unknown
We also find False Empty Follicle Syndrome when there is an incorrect administration of the hormonal treatment. This can be explained by an inaccurate injection based on the day and hour, an incorrect puncture, or a defective dose of the hormones.
