When do hCG levels drop after miscarriage?

By Andrea Rodrigo B.Sc., M.Sc. (embryologist).
Last Update: 10/20/2017

It can take four to six weeks after a miscarriage or abortion for hCG levels to drop to zero. Keep in mind that, if you miscarry or abort around the 8th to the 10th week of pregnancy, the level of hCG is at its highest at that point, so it will take time for it to drop below 5 mIU/ml.
