Can an endometrial biopsy tell why you are infertile?

Yes, an endometrial biopsy is a diagnostic test used to check the woman's fertility if she notices signs that she may be infertile.

This test involves the removal of a small sample of endometrial tissue (inner layer of the uterus). Then, the sample is examined under the microscope to look for the presence of anomalies in its cells.

As one can see in this picture, a small tube is inserted through the vagina until it reaches the uterus to take a small sample of endometrial tissue. Local anesthesia can be used, and the procedure is carried out at the doctor's office.
