I have been using the birth control pills for the last 3 years and it has really helped a lot. Now i want to conceive.
What should i do? Should i stop the usage immediately?
I have consulted my doctor and that is what they recommend. However i just wanted to ensure that there will not be any side affects of the constant use of these pills.
Shall i try immediately or should i wait to get pregnant? Will this be safe? Shall we use contraceptives. I have all these questions in my mind.
Let me know if you have experienced any of this?
Your suggestions will surely help me find a solution to all my problems.02/17/2018 at 3:24 am
Birth control pills work by preventing ovulation. So, if no other problem exists, your body will start working naturally within a couple of days. The hormones will be out of your body quickly once you stop. And, when these hormones are gone, your body starts working to resumen its natural function, that is, ovulation. It has to produce follicles again in order to lead you to ovulate, though. In short, it may take a few weeks for you to ovulate normally again, or even months (depending on each case).
Typically, normal ovulation resumes after 2-3 months of being off the pill.
I hope this helps,
