Embryo Adoption at ORM Fertility

Hi! My husband and I have been on this fertility journey for 9 years. After many failed IUIs and IVF rounds the doctors told us we had to use egg and sperm donation (my husband has azoospermia and I am 42 years old and my eggs are not good quality anymore). After all of these years of financial struggle to pay for these treatments as the last resort we heard about embryo adoption which is cheaper I think. Is this true? Does anyone know why?

  2. Hello Katie,

Embryo adoption is indeed cheaper than a double donation. This is due to the fact that the donation and fertilization process has already occurred and therefore those expenses are taken care of. Generally, these embryos are the ones of couples that have gone thru fertility treatment and don´t need the embryos for a number of reasons like they already achieved pregnancy or are unable to continue with treatments.

The price of this embryo adoption will vary from state to state and clinic to clinic. I recommend you read the following article where we explain everything that goes into embryo adoption: Embryo donation and adoption.

    I hope I could help,

    Best of luck!
