I’m looking for a fertility doctor in Connecticut, I’m from Greenwich but wouldn’t mind traveling a longer distance, though. I don’t have any fertility issues as such but want to become a single mother by choice, so it’s important to me that the clinic offers donor insemination. Also, information about the procedure would be appreciated.
Thank you so much.

I became a single mom by choice as well, was the best decision ever!! I went to the Center for advanced reproductive services for donor sperm IUI. It’s like a normal IUI but with donor sperm. It’s pretty easy since it is non-invasive, unlike IVF. Don’t know how informed you are about the whole fertility treatment options but it’s surely not something to be worried about.
The best thing in our case that it’s also highly successful since we don’t have any fertility issues to start with. I got pregnant at my first cycle. The doctor and the team are very knowledgeable and they always were willing to respond to the even pettiest questions.
11/07/2020 at 10:22 pmGood morning Norah,
the intrauterine insemination procedure is a low complexity fertility treatment since there is no surgical intervention required.
Broadly speaking, the use of frozen sperm is the main difference between IUI with donor sperm and IUI with the husband’s sperm.
The basic steps involved in a process of IUI with donor sperm are:
- Mild ovarian stimulation.
- Ovulation induction, which takes place about 36 hours after taking the medications.
- Donor sperm thawing process and preparation of the insemination cannula.
- Insemination: the cannula is inserted vaginally in order for the sperms to be directly placed inside the uterus.
If you want to read about the process in more detail, I recommend you the following post: IUI with Donor Sperm – Definition, Process & Success Rates.

Since you also ask for fertility centers in Connecticut, I suggest you have a look at our Clinic Directory. There, you will get a complete overview of fertility centers in your area with their treatment options, success rates, reviews, and more. This helps you decide on which fertility center is the most appropriate for you.
Hope this helps,
Best regards
