Getting pregnant, gay moms

    Hi

My partner Maria and I want to have kids soon. I really want to be a mum, and carry the baby. But so does she? What do we do? Having two babies at once is going to be EXPENSIVE! Also, if we did go for it together, can we both use the same donor? I really love the idea of them being half brothers / sisters.

  3. Just go for it! You can never have enough time, money, space etc hahaha. All kids really need is love and protection. I don´t know about IUI but my girlfriend and had a little girl with the ROPA method at Chelsea Fertility in New York. I highly recommend them.
    Good luck

  4. Hi Janice_and_Maz

It is a lovely idea for you both to share motherhood together at the same time, but yes, it could be a lot of work and expense. Only you know if this is right for you!

If you and your partner are looking to have a baby, using artificial insemination (another term for IUI) then it is possible for you to both use the same sperm donor. You could do this at the same time or wait a while between pregnancies.

In this video I explain in more detail about how a same sex couple can use the same sperm donor for artifical insemination.

    I hope this useful!

    All the best
